Laurel Curran

Senior Consultant

Laurel is an energetic Senior Consultant on the Human Services team with a background in the Nonprofit sector. She has worked with multi-service agencies of all sizes to design and implement custom Salesforce systems that streamline operations, manage programs, and ease analysis and reporting of key success metrics. Laurel started her Salesforce career as an “Accidental Admin,” and as a result has developed a passion for empowering nonprofit staff to develop their technical abilities and confidently manage complex systems.

Prior to consulting, she spent four years at Upaya Social Ventures supporting small to medium-sized businesses in India with impact investment and consulting support. She has experience working in a wide range of industries, from Government to Steel Fabrication to Aquaculture. Laurel earned a degree in Political Science and History from Willamette University and a certificate in Data Analytics from Northeastern University. In her free time, Laurel enjoys exploring the islands and mountains of Washington State through hiking, sailing, and skiing.

Seth Leonard

Senior Data Consultant

Seth has an extensive background building online solutions for nonprofits. During his early career, he managed web properties for the Womens’ Funding Network, the ACLU of Northern California, and Earthjustice. Since 2013, Seth has been focused on enhancing Salesforce systems for a variety of nonprofits, with a particular focus on data migration. Seth is a Certified Salesforce App Builder and Certified Salesforce Admin.

Seth lives in Davis, California with his wife, daughter, and dog. He’s an avid baseball fan and tea enthusiast, and has been known to take long train trips just for fun.

Chris Hoback

Lead Software Developer

Chris Hoback is a Lead Software Developer for Exponent Partners’ product division. He develops and designs solutions in the Exponent Case Management application for human service organizations. Chris Hoback has software experience in healthcare, Environment Protection Agency, aerospace, game development, and mobile application development. He’s written applications using C/++/#, JAVA, JavaScript, python, APEX, PL/SQL and has used technologies such as AWS, MVN, NodeJS, Angular, JQuery, CloudFoundry, SpringBoot, Postgress, Oracle SQL and Hibernate to name a few. Chris Hoback holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

When he is not working, Chris enjoys playing board games, spending time with his family, and working on home projects.

Lance Petersen

Manager, Client Services

Lance works with clients in our Human Services sector, developing custom solutions and implementing Exponent Case Management. He is a certified Salesforce.com developer with over seven years of experience using Salesforce with nonprofits. Prior to joining Exponent Partners full time in 2015, Lance worked as a Business Analyst for The Children’s Aid Society, leading a Salesforce redesign and integration with external data sources. Lance has a BA from DePaul University and an MFA from California Institute of the Arts.

He recently relocated to Portland, Oregon where he’s taking advantage of all the hiking, biking, great coffee houses and donut shops.

Peter Bender

Senior Solution Architect

Peter plays varied roles on Exponent Partners nonprofit projects, serving as solution architect, lead business analyst, and more. He has worked with all sizes and types of nonprofits in his long tenure at the company and has special expertise in custom solutions, philanthropy systems, and integrations. He places a high priority on keeping client solutions simple and cost-effective, and brings an abiding commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability of design, and usability to his work. Peter has designed and developed technical business solutions at fast-paced small companies, with solutions ranging from web tools and custom CRM applications to SAP implementations. While taking time off to be a stay-at-home dad, Peter began implementing Salesforce applications as a volunteer for local nonprofits through the Taproot Foundation.

A native Midwesterner, Peter is an avid outdoorsman. He has crewed a 135-foot ocean-going research vessel, worked as a Forest Service Wilderness Ranger, climbed mountains, hiked for weeks in Alaska and Utah, and explored Antarctica. His goal is to be a role model for his three young daughters, leading a balanced life and giving back to the community. Peter graduated from Carleton College in Minnesota with a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology.

Lara Kimberley

Principal Consultant

Lara leads our fundraising practice helping nonprofits develop, refine, and integrate their fundraising systems. She is passionate about creating solutions for organizations that are thoughtful, elegant, and scalable.

Lara has been part of the Salesforce ecosystem for 10 years and has been implementing and extending Salesforce in nonprofits as a consultant for six years. She has worked with a broad spectrum of nonprofits including food banks, philanthropy, K-12 and higher education, environment and wildlife, visual art, disaster and international relief, and faith-based ministries. Lara holds 13 Salesforce Certifications including Application Architect and Nonprofit Cloud Consultant.

Lara earned her BFA in Fine Art from Carnegie Mellon University. An accomplished professional artist, Lara’s work has been exhibited internationally and is in the collections of universities and business leaders.

Jennifer Vaughan Paquette

Director, Nonprofit Markets

Jennifer brings 20 years of nonprofit management, enterprise consulting services and technical program management experience to her role at Exponent Partners. She has served federated national and international human services nonprofits as well as clients in the arts and higher education sectors. As both a credentialed SAFe®Agilist and Certified Fund Raising Executive, Jennifer combines her technical acumen with significant nonprofit experience to help clients realize their missions and create positive social impact.

Also known as #TheRemoteTechChick, Jennifer specializes in virtual leadership and remote management working with clients and teams across the globe. She earned her Masters in Nonprofit Management from the University of South Carolina and undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island. Jennifer is passionate about animal rescue and is an active foster parent to shy, sick and senior pups. She lives in rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her 6 senior rescue pets and enjoys traveling, antiquing, and farm-to-table vegetarian cuisine. Connect with Jennifer on LinkedIn!

Josie Alleman

Product Manager

Josie is passionate about helping human services organizations use data to  ensure that the work they are doing is truly making a difference in people’s lives. Her excitement about data in social services started when she was a public health Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya. She helped rural community health workers record their activities to report out to US based funders and used this data to ultimately receive a large grant to support orphan caregivers in their communities.

Since then she has worked as a mental health case manager, a QA program manager and has had several roles in product and professional services at nonprofit software companies. She holds a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work and Public Policy from Ohio State University.

Josie lives in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband, 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, cooking, and traveling

Courtney Phillips

Senior Consultant

Courtney is a Salesforce Senior Consultant with over 5 years of experience in professional services. She’s built grant management systems for well-known foundations, program management solutions for universities and human services, and fundraising solutions for various nonprofits. She holds 6 certifications, including Sales Cloud, Nonprofit Cloud, and Pardot. When not building Salesforce solutions, Courtney enjoys camping, hiking, cooking, and playing board games — generally spending time with her family and dog.

Amy Miesen

Director, Client Services

Prior to joining Exponent Partners, Amy worked for a multi-service human service agency as the Director of Executive Operations for many years. In this role, she was responsible for agency-wide performance management and outcomes management. This experience has instilled a passion for helping other nonprofits use data to enhance their efforts and magnify their impact on those they serve.

Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Her rich history of working in the human services field coupled with her expertise in organizational development makes her a perfect candidate for guiding nonprofit customers through program model design for Exponent Case Management.

Amy lives in Minnesota with her partner, two cats, and a backyard full of chipmunks. When not working she can be found hosting board game nights and attempting to perfect various cupcake recipes.

Richard Saunders

Product Director

Richard works with a team to design and develop the Exponent Case Management application for human service organizations.

Richard has over 20 years of experience providing clients with technology solutions, including over 10 years for human service organizations using the Salesforce platform. He has been instrumental in the design and development of the Exponent Case Management solution. His technical expertise includes technical project management, systems analysis, solution design and implementation, CRM and constituent relationship management (Salesforce: Apex and VisualForce), client information management systems for businesses and nonprofits. Richard is a Salesforce.com Certified Force.com Developer. Richard holds a BA in Computer Science/Business from Western Washington University.
